Dominic Cataldo

Dr. Cataldo is a senior biologist and biochemist with more than 25 years of diverse technical experience. His technical responsibilities include conceiving of, selecting base materials for, experimentally developing, testing, redesigning and prototyping long-term, controlled-release pesticide delivery systems. He earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry and physiology at Yale University. Currently, Dr. Cataldo is vice president and chief technical officer of BioGuard Technologies, Inc., where he is responsible for

  • technical aspects of new product development for BioGuard, and identifying and securing the necessary capital equipment required for all lab activities.
  • defining new missions and acquiring new technologies to meet and maintain leadership in sustained-release and biocontrol agent delivery systems.
  • day-to-day technical performance, quality assurance and assigning technical support staff to various tasks to meet customer requirements.

Since 1966, Dr. Cataldo has published 37 journal articles, over 100 government reports and symposia, and has contributed to several technical book chapters. He holds several U.S. and foreign patents for long-term, controlled-release technolgies.

Dr. Cataldo earned a B.S. in anatomy and microbiology from Ohio State University, M.S. in biochemistry and physiology from University of Dayton, and Ph.D. in biochemistry and physiology from Yale University.
